iPhone 8 is a beautiful looking phone with a glass back. The purpose for the glass back is to allow the phone to take advantage of inductive charging. This means you can lay the phone on an inductive charge pad and it will automatically start to charge. Perfect for your sleep cycle! The camera is slightly better compared to the i7 model as well as the processor. Its up for debate as to how much of an improvement this is. We tried the 8 for a couple weeks and it seemed quite responsive but no different the the i7 Plus we are currently testing.
This version of the iPhone is still relatively inexpensive to repair compared to some Android phones and the new iPhone X. Those phones use the Samsung made AMOLED screen and add dramatically to the price. So you get the benefits of the latest hardware without the costs if you break it. Not a bad trade off. The back glass is actually more expensive to repair than the front screen which would be the biggest downfall. Break that back glass and you are paying a lot to have it replaced or getting a whole new frame. The camera on the iPhone 8 is not too bad in terms of cost to replace. The replacement time is fairly short, roughly 15 minutes to do this job. The cameras on the newer phones are far more sensitive so if you drop the phone in just the right way you can expect to have to replace it. Usually this is a focus issue.
