Repairing the screen on this phone is fairly straightforward once you know how to do it. There are two screws at the bottom of of the display that use a special torx screw to be removed. Once this is done, the screen should be heated on the edges and slowly pried up from the bottom. The flex connections are located on the side for the touch and video. The front camera flex is at the top. The screen must be carefully moved from side to side to loosen the top area. Any sudden or violent moves could break the flex cables. I would rate this removal as expert only. Mess up the fingerprint id sensor and that part of the phone is toast. The front flex cable can also be a problem if not careful. It will separate at the solder joint.

The iPhone 8 Plus has turned out to be a much better seller than originally expected. It would appear that customers have decided that this size of phone is now acceptable. Certainly the larger viewing size is much appreciated. This writer uses the plus size and really likes the bigger screen.

The down side to this phone is the glass back is easy to break. We find that the glass back has not been a problem yet but it certainly could be a big bill if you broke it. Replacing that glass involves heating to a very high temperature or completely replacing.
